Welcome and Announcements

Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship        adapted from Psalm 19     (Read responsively)

Who can discern his errors?

Declare us innocent from hidden faults.

Keep back Your servants also from presumptuous sins;

Let them not have dominion over us!

Then we shall be blameless,

And innocent of great transgression.

Let the words of our mouths and the meditation of our hearts

Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, our rock and our redeemer.

* Affirmation of Faith        The Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.  [*universal]

* Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn of Adoration                           Jesus Saves!                    Red Book # 438

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God     (Read responsively)

You have called us to the Light, but we chose the darkness.

Lord, have mercy.

You have called us to faith, but we doubt and fear.

Lord, have mercy.

You have called us to be faithful, but we waver.

Lord, have mercy.

You call us to works of faith, but we sit on our hands or seek our own pleasure. Lord, have mercy.

You have called us to love, but we have shrugged and hated. Lord, have mercy.

Lord, forgive us and restore us in the name of Jesus Christ.

(time of silent, personal confession)  AMEN
