Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship        adapted from Psalm 20      (Read responsively)

May the Lord  answer you in the day of trouble!

May  the name of the God of Jacob  protect you!

May He send you help from  the sanctuary

And give you support from Zion!

May He  remember all your offerings

And regard with favor your burnt sacrifices!

May He  grant you your heart's desire

And fulfill all your plans!

May we shout for joy over our salvation, and in the name of our God set up our  banners!

May the Lord fulfill all our petitions!

* Affirmation of Faith        “The Apostle’s Creed”

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.                                         *universal

* Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn of Adoration            “I Love You, Lord”          (sing twice)    Red Book # 78

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

Lord, we acknowledge that by nature we are sinners and rebels. We confess we resist the action and work of Your Spirit within and amongst us. We are all too content with our ignorance of You and Your ways. We too gladly avoid Your instruction and shun close fellowship with You. We are lazy and reluctant in doing the works You intend for us to do. We are guilty of all these and more, even though You purchased us body, mind, and soul. Father, we completely offer ourselves to You again, that You might have us all for Yourself and transform us into who and what You want us to be. In Jesus’ name.  (time of silent, personal confession) AMEN.

Assurance of Pardon

Leader   . . . Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel!

ALL:            In Jesus Christ we are forgiven

* Responding with Praise                    “Gloria Patri”                      Blue Book # 579

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning; is now and ever shall be. World without end, Amen! Amen!

Time with Young Disciples

Prayers of the People and the Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.  AMEN.

WHETHER you’re investigating the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ, looking for a church home, or have been with us for a long time – welcome! God is real, God is present, and we hope you sense and experience the grandeur of God today in this morning’s worship. Please sign the blue attendance pad and join us in the Fellowship Hall for coffee and light refreshments following the worship service.

THANK YOU - Thanks to your generosity a wire transfer for $1,385 was sent to the Beth Shalom Fellowship in Nepal to help these believers and their church buildings recover from the devastating effects of the earthquakes.

Somewhere along the line we feel that holiness is a gift from God that requires nothing of us - that you wake up one morning and presto! You're suddenly holy. Sorry. It takes a lot of guts, guts right down here in your stomach, and it takes a lot of effort,
