Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship               adapted from Psalm 80   (responsively)

Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock!

You Who are enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth.

Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up Your might

and come to save us!

Restore us, O God; let Your face shine, that we may be saved!

O Lord God of hosts, how long will You be angry with Your people's prayers?

You have fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink in full measure.

You make us an object of contention for our neighbors, and our enemies laugh among themselves.

Restore us, O God of hosts; let Your face shine, that we may be saved!

* Affirmation of Faith        The Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.                                           *universal

* Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn of Adoration            Stand Up and Bless the Lord          Red Book  # 65

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

God of righteousness, as Your prophet, Isaiah, wrote: We all like sheep have gone astray. We have tried to make our own way. We have misused and wasted the great riches You have given us. We are all prodigal children. At this moment we seek to return to You, our God. Receive us with mercy, we pray. We are truly sorry for our sins and long to be re-stored to You, to ourselves, and to one another. Look upon us with favor for the sake of Jesus, our Lord and our Redeemer, in Whose name we pray.  (time of silent, personal confession)      AMEN

Assurance of Pardon

Leader  . . . Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel!

ALL:           In Jesus Christ we are forgiven

* Responding with Praise                     Gloria Patri                    Blue Book # 579

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning; is now and ever shall be. World without end, Amen! Amen!

Time with Young Disciples

Prayers of the People and the Lords Prayer

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:  For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.  AMEN.

God is real, God is present, and we hope you sense and experience the grandeur of God today in this morning’s worship. Please sign the blue attendance pad and join us in the Fellowship Hall for coffee and light refreshments following the worship service.

FLOWERS – If you would like to sponsor flowers for the chancel in loving memory or honor of a loved one or in honor of a special occasion, there is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board by the drinking fountain in the Narthex. Cost: $24/Sunday..

BUILDING MAINTENANCE FUND – Last year the Session established a Building Maintenance Fund to make payment of large repair bills easier. A hearty thanks to all who have contributed to this fund. It is deeply appreciated. The Building Maintenance Fund  along with our monthly cash flow has made the payment of the parking lot repair and seal coating possible without drawing upon other reserves. Now the fund is almost depleted. As the Lord leads, please consider contributing to this fund so we can be prepared for future significant repairs.
